On June 11, the Zhangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce successfully held the Zhangzhou and “Belt and Road” Countries Trade Matchmaking Conference. Representatives from 10 local enterprises, including Fujian Jiansheng Furniture Group Co., Ltd., Zhangzhou Chenzi Trading Co., Ltd., and Zhangzhou Yulong Trading Co., Ltd., totaling 19 participants, met with 47 foreign guests from countries such as Nepal, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Latvia, and Eritrea. The conference provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, exploring trade opportunities, and building lasting economic partnerships. Shen Yuanbiao, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, attended the event.
Deputy Director Shen emphasized that the conference aims to remember history, inherit spirit, and inspire citizens, especially youth, to value Zhangzhou as an important node city on the Maritime Silk Road. He highlighted that Zhangzhou maintains an open and win-win philosophy, with trade exchanges with Belt and Road countries growing steadily. In 2024, Zhangzhou’s exports to Belt and Road countries reached CNY 35.9 billion, up 9.5% year-on-year, while imports totaled CNY 21.7 billion, up 48%. Shen expressed hopes that the conference would serve as a catalyst to further expand cooperation in sectors such as food processing, furniture, home goods, and other industries, fostering innovation and mutual growth.
Representatives from Fujian Jiansheng Furniture Group delivered a speech, showcasing the company’s deep roots in Zhangzhou and its comprehensive capabilities across R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service. The company operates a 150,000㎡ industrial park and a 5,000㎡ showroom, supported by a full-process manufacturing system. Its products are exported to 142 countries, including supplying school furniture to over 40 countries’ Ministries of Education, highlighting Jiansheng’s strong global presence.
During the conference, Jiansheng Furniture expressed eagerness to explore deeper cooperation with partners from Nepal, Egypt, Sri Lanka, and other countries, not only in import-export trade but also in joint research and development, innovative product design, and sustainable manufacturing practices.
